In a wild setting of bare mountains and scrub, above the green and cultivated valley of Cristolacce, the village of Grossa, with its typical architecture, stands along a hill. At the place called Campu Fiurelli, an extraordinary steatite statuette dating back to the 3rd millennium BC has been found and is now kept in the British Museum. Not far away, the 3.20 m high menhir of Vaccil Vecchio can finally be admired, as well as burials with large chests, a polisher and a megalith in La Piana. The church of San Giovani Battista, dating back to the mid-12th century, stands enthroned in the middle of a field.
