The baths are located on the banks of the Taravo, on the old transhumance route. Although the spring had been known for a long time, it was only in the 18th century that it began to be exploited on a small-scale basis until recent decades. Many Talavais have enjoyed the benefits of these waters, which for a long time were also used as public baths at a time when bathrooms were a rare luxury. The spa and associated businesses have been closed for some twenty years. The commune also boasts a ruined Romanesque chapel, dedicated to Saint Peter, to the east. It has since been converted into a tomb.
