Sampolo is a village built on small terraces on the mountainside, and boasts a number of old houses, some with sculpted facades that you can admire. There's also a lovely shady square where you can linger a while before exploring the surrounding area. Sampolo is part of the Corsican Regional Park. The hamlet of Giovicacce is also very typical, offering a beautiful panorama of the surrounding forests. Rooms and table d'hôtes at Stéphane Paquet's, who is also a renowned breeder of Corsican pigs, are the ideal place to stay and eat in the area.
