Travel Guide Palneca

Four kilometers from Ciamannacce, including the state forest of Saint-Antoine, Palneca is little frequented by tourists, but offers magnificent bathing spots and forest walks. Built at an altitude of 900 m, it still boasts a number of old stone houses, some of whose lintels bear ancient inscriptions. The D69, known as the "route des Trois Cols", links the two sides of Corsica via the Sorba, Verde and Vaccia passes. It is the village of the famous bandit Joseph Bartoli, who died mysteriously in 1931. Star'Ac singer Jennifer and tennis player Marion also hail from this village.
