Bastelica is one of Ajaccio's 79 communes. It's the highest village in the Prunelli valley, and while it's renowned for its charcuterie and hiking, the village has many other treasures to offer. Situated at an altitude of 800 metres and surrounded by alpine pastures, the site is ideal for summer hikes, where you can enjoy the fresh, clean air. In winter, the snow-covered slopes of Bastelica and the Val d'Ese ski resort are the perfect place to enjoy the pleasures of the slopes. Take a stroll through the village hamlets, looking for the carved stonework on the facades of the houses. The autumn market is held in mid-November.
