The old arcaded houses are built of granite, and the town is dominated by the ruins of a castle. Aullène is surrounded by relief, such as the Col de la Vacca, which offers immense panoramic views over the region. You can also stroll through the Tacca forest, or access the rock in balance via the hiking trails. The mountain village was once an important transhumance center, hosting a livestock fair that was considered one of the most important on the island. In the village, the church of Saint-Nicolas is listed as a historic monument and boasts a bell tower with carved tiers, as well as a fine wooden pulpit.
