In the 16th century, the village was called Frasso, and was an important center of the island. The ruins of the old village can still be seen, as can its tower, the Casa del Conte. It was once inhabited by the bishops of Ajaccio, who bore the title of Counts of Frasso. The former chapel of San-Quilico de Frasso is now in ruins. In the village, the parish church boasts a handsome bell tower. Albitreccia's coastline is still unspoilt, and the beach at Agosta, close to Ajaccio, promises a very pleasant and soothing vacation. When the sea is rough, there's a lot of surf, so you'll need to be careful.
