After Chinon and with 2,700 inhabitants, it is the second most populated commune in the Chinon Vienne et Loire community of communes. Halfway between Bourgueil and Chinon, Beaumont-en-Véron is located on a hilly limestone plateau, dominated by hills and Puys. Beaumont-en-Véron retains the character of a rural village, with its typical longères made of Touraine tufa stone. This city is appreciated for its living environment, on the banks of the Vienne, with many green spaces, classified wooded areas, a protected site Natura 2000, the beautiful island of Séguin in the middle of the Vienne, a hiking trail, without forgetting the vineyards which nicely mark the landscape. These cover 242 ha which are shared between about fifteen farms producing mainly a red wine from the Cabernet Franc grape variety, but also a few bottles of white and rosé. As far as the built heritage is concerned, we can mention the Notre-Dame-Rosaire church, a stone vaulted building with pointed arches, its small market hall dating from the 13th century and numerous castles and manors including Coulaines, Razilly, Détilly, la Courtinière, Isoré, Montour, le Vélor, la Giraudière. Three hotels, one of which occupies a charming manor house, and above all numerous gites and guest rooms await you for a pleasant stay between Touraine and Anjou, in the land of Rabelais and in the heart of the Loire castles.
