On the border of Maine-et-Loire, in the extreme east of Indre-et-Loire and at the confluence of Vienne and Loire, this commune occupies the point of the triangle formed by the Véron peninsula. With more than 1,500 inhabitants, Savigny-sur-Véron, 10 km from Chinon, is one of the most populated communes in the area. It is a land of viticulture with several estates producing Chinon wines. Savigny-sur-Véron is home to one of the three campsites in the Chinon region (the Fritillary campsite, named after a local plant, the fritillary or guinea fowl flower), as well as a communal stopover lodge (Accueil Vélo), numerous rural lodgings and bed and breakfasts, and the Véron EcoMuseum. Also noteworthy are the unusual places open free of charge for your picnics: a table in the shape of a bunch of grapes at the crossroads between the D7 and the D118, an XXL table at the Bertignolles harbor, tables in carts at the crossroads between the D218 and the rue Ganie, or the table made of engraved stones at the intersection between the D218 and the rue Basse, near the rue de Cheviré. So many invitations to take a break in this original and welcoming town. Let's add an attraction with a stroll on the banks of the Loire River which allows you to discover the old boat slipway, recently rehabilitated, the dry grasslands of Bertignolles, rich in plant biodiversity, as well as the beautiful variety of poultry fauna which finds refuge here.
