Day 1: London

Steps: Londres, Saint-Mary

You can easily spend an extra day in London and devote it to the activities of your choice. A passage through Kensington and Knightsbridge to discover Harrod's and visit the excellent Victoria & Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum is highly recommended. Notting Hill is not so far away and is also clearly worth a visit. Explore also the cool and arty neighborhoods of the east, Shoreditch, Dalston, Hackney...

Day 2: The Kent Coast

Steps: Canterbury, Margate, Deal, Douvres - Dover

While in Dover and Canterbury, take the opportunity to visit the coastal resorts and heritage of the coastline, such as Margate, one of the oldest seaside resorts, or Deal.

Day 3: South Downs

Steps: Chichester, Arundel

The Sussex hinterland is characterised by its lush green countryside and impressive hills. Walkers can take in the views from Ditchling Beacon and Devil's Dyke. If you're more into heritage, head to Chichester for its cathedral and nearbyArundel Castle.

Day 4: Bournemouth and Poole

Steps: Minehead

The largest towns in Dorset, these popular seaside resorts offer a great opportunity for a relaxing day out, with a huge beach, some attractions and often good weather.

Day 5: New Forest, Winchester and Salisbury

Steps: New Forest National Park, Winchester, Salisbury

TheNew Forest is one of the UK's newest national parks and offers beautiful landscapes of woodland, heathland and moorland. It is home to a wide variety of wildlife and offers many opportunities for walking amidst the gentle terrain. To the north of the park, Winchester and Salisbury are both small historic towns typical of the country where you can spend a few hours to enjoy a rich heritage.

Day 6: South Devon Coast

Steps: Exmouth, Torquay, Dartmouth, Salcombe, Dartmoor National Park, Exeter

South ofExeter and Dartmoor National Park, the Devon coastline provides some of the best coastal scenery in the region. The small port of Dartmouth is particularly beautiful and colourful, but you can also visit Salcombe, Torquay and Exmouth.

Day 7: South Cornwall Coast

Steps: Looe, Polperro, Fowey, Falmouth

Less impressive than its northern neighbour but truly picturesque and green, the southern side of the county is well worth a visit, with its charming nature towards Looe, Polperro, Fowey or the Roseland Peninsula. All these small ports are lively and friendly.

Day 8: Cheddar, Glastonbury, Wells

Steps: Glastonbury, Wells, Cheddar, Bristol, Bath

Between Exmoor and Bristol and Bath, take time to walk through the Cheddar Gorge and explore Glastonbury, its Tor Hill, and medieval Wells, with its stunning cathedral and historic streets.

Day 9: Bristol and Bath

Steps: Bristol, Bath

Don't choose between Bristol and Bath as suggested in the South West itinerary and spend a day in each, if not more, to fully appreciate all the attractions.

Day 10: The countryside and the Cotswolds

Steps: Oxford, Bristol, Castle Combe, Bibury

Between Bristol and Oxford, spend a day or two exploring the Cotswolds. A picturesque and unspoilt green setting, its hills and dales are home to beautiful medieval villages such as Castle Combe and Bibury.
