Minehead, is located on the boundary of Exmoor National Park in West Somerset. It is also the starting point of the South West Coast Path, the longest marked walking trail in England. In the 15th century, Minehead was a fishing port and later a wool trading port. Today, it is a seaside resort, mainly inhabited by senior citizens in cure throughout the year, and invested by British tourists in summer. On The Avenue, most of the shops, B&Bs... and tourists are concentrated. If the town itself lacks a bit of charm, its geographical location makes it the ideal starting point to explore Somerset.
