West of Mâcon, Solutré-Pouilly is a typical winegrowing village in southern Burgundy. Dominated by the famous Roche de Solutré, it comprises the village of "Solutré" and two hamlets, "Pouilly" and "La Grange du Bois". Rich in history, the village is part of the Solutré-Pouilly-Vergisson Grand Site, with its Prehistory Museum and geobotanical garden. The Maison du Grand Site welcomes visitors with its landscape interpretation center. From the top of the rock, you can see the Saône plain and the town of Mâcon in the distance, and at your feet, the vine-planted hillsides that produce the famous Pouilly-Fuissé cru.
