Fleurie is a small village full of charm, with its beautiful winegrowers' houses and a few opulent residences. In the centre of the village, the cooperative cellar stands out with its colourful fresco. Founded in 1927, it is the oldest cellar in the Beaujolais region. To the south of the village, the hill of the Madonna offers a nice walk, overlooking a sea of vines. A chapel built in 1866 protects the site. A fine and delicate wine in its carmine colour, Fleurie is often said to be the most feminine of the Beaujolais crus. Its scent of flowers, iris, rose, violet and peach make it a subtle wine on the palate. Every year a wine market is held.
