Forio d'Ischia is located in the western part of the island and extends from Punta Caruso to Punta Imperatore, on the slopes of Mount Epomeo. With its mineral waters and very fertile land, the site attracted many Romans in ancient times. In the 1950s, Forio became the destination of international celebrities in entertainment, culture and politics, such as Tennessee Williams and Truman Capote. Today, it is a popular tourist centre thanks to the many advantages it offers: beautiful botanical gardens, thermal baths and spas, beaches, but also good nightlife (discos, pubs and bars).
