Procida refers to both the island and the municipality which is divided into nine districts or fractions called grancìe. Roughly speaking, the three main ones are: Terra Murata (northeast), a medieval village perched on the top of the island near the Abbey of San Michele, Corricella (northeast), and Vivara, the wildest and oldest part, at the southwestern end of the island. The renewed pleasure of immersing oneself in the island's nature and walking through the narrow streets with their colorful houses welded together should make the most jaded traveler succumb.
