This small town of about 8,000 inhabitants is located on the north coast of the island, between Ischia Ponte and Lacco Ameno. At first it was simply called Casamicciola, but in 1956 the word Terme was added to recall the presence on its territory of numerous thermal springs. The town is, in fact, famous for its marine hydrothermal baths, which in the last century were frequented by famous people such as Alphonse de Lamartine, Ary Renan, Henrik Ibsen and even Giuseppe Garibaldi. There are several wellness centres and hotels offering water-based treatments.
