What to visit Capri?
When to go to Capri?
When to go to Capri? The very high tourist season in Capri is during the first two weeks of August. It is then a parade of ferries and tourists from Naples. The island empties a little in the evening. The two most pleasant periods to stay in Capri are May, June and September. You can enjoy all the pleasures of the beach and outdoor activities without the heat wave or the crowds of tourists. The island remains very pleasant in October and from April. Even outside the tourist season you will find accommodation and food. From June to September inclusive, the sea temperature is around 25°C. In January/February the temperature varies between 5 and 14°C, in July/August from 20 to 31°C.
Weather at the moment
Italy's climate is generally very pleasant. However, Italy has three climatic zones. The northern mountains have a rather harsh alpine climate. The Po Valley has a continental climate with cold winters and hot, stormy summers. In the south, especially in Capri, there is a Mediterranean climate with very hot and dry summers and mild and relatively rainy winters. The inland mountains have a much colder climate than the coast, with snow in winter. The weather should be taken into account when planning your stay in Capri.
It is not a cheap destination, even if low-cost flights connect Naples. Capri is home to many luxury hotels, some of them significantly lower their prices out of season, ideal for a high-end stay at a lower cost. Restaurants are expensive on the island all year round, generally more expensive than in Naples. Beaches are often not free. You can use your credit card for hotel and meals. For money, you have the ATMs of banks.
No visa is required for Italy and therefore for Capri, for citizens of the European Union, Swiss or Canadian citizens. A valid identity card is sufficient to stay in Calabria. Your European social security card is accepted by doctors and pharmacies.
There are no health problems specific to Italy. So no worries if you stay in Capri. Beware of ice cream indigestion though! And of course, protect yourself from the sun and stay hydrated in summer. Mosquitoes can also spoil your evenings and nights. Take along some protection. In winter, cover up.

How to go to Capri? Our advice & tips
Capri is often proposed as a one-day discovery during an organized stay in the Neapolitan region. You also have the choice of all-inclusive seaside stays, generally quite luxurious, in Capri for one or two weeks. The services are of high quality. Relaxation, swimming, visits, gastronomy and animated evenings are on the program.
No need to worry about discovering Capri alone. You can take the ferry from Naples and enjoy the freedom of the island's coastline and paths. Buses, boats and cabs take you from one point to another. If you want to discover nature and beautiful views, all you need to do is put on good shoes. Of course, you can best appreciate the charms of Capri outside the tourist season.
You can get around Capri on foot, by funicular, by bus, by cab or by boat. Even if some ferries offer to take your car, you will hardly need it on the spot. And it would be a shame not to take the famous convertible cabs that connect the three small urban centers. The boats go around the island in 3 hours. You can reach Capri by funicular from the coast. And if you don't want to spend the night on the island, find out when the last ferry leaves.
