In Tabanan, we find ourselves in Bali's richest rice-growing region. As the district capital, the town is of modest tourist interest, but you'll be surprised by the beauty of its grand mansions. The town has the advantage of being more authentic, and less polluted by Western signs and billboards. It's a bit like the Bali of a few years ago. At the market, you'll of course find all the local fruit and vegetable producers, the meat section (not necessarily very appetizing at first glance) and the section selling everyday items such as sarongs and good-quality fabrics. All around the market, of course, you'll find numerous warungs serving a variety of typical local foods. The local museum is located on a small road, on the left when coming from Negara, after the Yeh Panas river, not far from the Senggulan banjar. From here, you can reach the Tanah Lot temple.
