This small village is built on either side of the small road that descends steeply to the west. It welcomes tourists attracted by the wilderness hikes, in lush landscapes, and visitors who wish to meet the inhabitants of the area. This region was a kind of agricultural laboratory for the Dutch who planted cocoa, vanilla, clove trees and coffee. A few villages hidden in the mountains are still home to Bali-aga populations, the first populations to populate Bali.Since the 1990s, there has been a desire to develop ecological tourism in the Munduk area, especially from the Puri Lumbung Cottages hotel, located at the entrance to the village Once in Munduk, you will have all the time to plan to walk in the rice fields dotted with dry fields planted with corn, tobacco and groves of trees that punctuate the landscape. You can walk for half an hour to one of the most beautiful and impressive waterfalls on the island (Munduk Waterfall) or plan a multi-hour trip to Gunung Lesong, a small mountain in the south In Munduk, ask for the house of Pan Wicarna who is one of the few blacksmiths(pandé) to cast besar gongs and build gamelans As far as accommodation is concerned, there is a choice, but mostly in the higher categories and few really cheap accommodations
