Amed, a steep stretch of coastline in the northeast of Bali, stretches for some fifteen kilometers and encompasses several picturesque villages. Once unspoilt and rarely visited by tourists, this area is now seeing the emergence of a host of new infrastructures. Its black sand beach, adorned with colorful prahus, offers a magnificent panorama, although swimming is sometimes a little dangerous. Along the shore, a number of cafés invite you to relax and enjoy the tranquility and rugged beauty of the coastline. Amed also stands out as one of the few places in Bali where the coral reef remains relatively intact. When you visit Amed, it's easy to see why Bali is one of the world's top tourist destinations. It's a place that exudes peace and serenity. The characteristic calm of this small village, free from night-time hustle and bustle, and its proximity to some of Indonesia's best diving sites, contribute to its success as a tourist destination. Many visitors come to Amed specifically for the diving, taking advantage of the location to avoid the crowds that travel from Kuta.
