To the west of the town center, past Penestanan and continuing eastwards. In addition to its magnificent view of the Ayung River, the village is famous for having played host to the famous American musicologist Colin McPhee in the 1930s.Today, many artists have chosen to live in the charming surroundings of Sayan, which is also home to Ubud's most luxurious hotels and breathtaking natural surroundings. A stroll through Sayan is invigorating. As for transport, you can come by bus, car or motorcycle. We don't recommend cycling - unless you're very sporty - as it's quite uphill! The road to Sayan is superb.
