Situated 25 kilometers south of Clermont-Ferrand, Vic-le-Comte is a town on a human scale, with just over 5,000 inhabitants and a very active life. This is where the paper mill that supplies the Banque de France is located, employing several hundred people. History can be felt in the streets of the former county town, where John Stuart built the Sainte-Chapelle, which later became the property of Marie de Médicis. Queen Margot inherited it until 1606. The charming old town is well worth a visit, with its charming heritage: corbelled houses, wash-house, dovecote, fountains...
