The road leading from south to centre is superb and passes through green oases and canyons worthy of great westerns. And 30 minutes by car from its absolute opposite, the Playa del Inglés, Fataga is a small, peaceful village nestled at the bottom of the barranco (ravine) of the same name, amidst palm trees. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful villages on the island and you can visit workshops where you can make handicrafts, such as shawls, pottery and basketry. 5 km to the south, we will also discover Arteara, another typical village that will lead us to a necropolis that is one of the largest aboriginal cemeteries in Gran Canaria, with 900 burials.
