The forest of los Tilos (or Tiles) is one of the five biosphere reserves recognized by Unesco in the Canaries. It is the best preserved laurel forest of the island and probably of the archipelago. There are trees and ferns considered as real living fossils. Numerous birds can be seen, including the gavilán falcon, characteristic of Madeira and the Canary Islands, the canary serin, Serinus canaria, robins, petirrojo, finches, Pinzón vulgar, etc. It is home to silkworms, locusts, bats, and a multitude of plants and trees. A place recommended for nature lovers.
