Perched at an altitude of 1,219 m in the middle of nature, it is the highest village on the island. And also the most famous of the troglodyte villages of Gran Canaria, whose archaeological sites in the Risco Caído have been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2019. The tourist office, calle Párroco Domingo Báez, 13, has a small cave museum and will give you all the information you need to plan your visit to the caves. Like their Guanche ancestors, a number of grancanarios farmers continue to live under these rocky shelters, which are now furnished with all the comforts. On the heights, there is also a small troglodyte church.
