Scherwiller is a famous wine-producing town and has many attractions: two castles, the chapels of Saint-Wolfgang and Sainte-Odile, superb half-timbered houses, including those that now house the restaurant La Couronne and the Tourist Office (a sublime oriel decorated with acanthus leaves and scrolls), numerous washhouses along the Aubach river. In July and August, events are organized in honor of the washerwomen. To the north of Scherwiller, you can discover the old workers' houses of Kientzville created in 1947 by the textile industrialist Robert Kientz. It is now a charming residential area.
