In one of the wildest parts of the island, Gharb, which means 'the west', is a typical and charming village, perhaps the most pleasant in Gozo, but unfairly ignored by the tourist who, forsaking the north-west, prefers to go diving at Dwejra Point. Gharb is spoken in Gharb in a Ghanaian patois that it would be useless to try to decipher. The small streets are lined with low walls and sometimes gigantic cacti. Farms are still visible in the village. In short, it's a good place to stroll. You can then visit the neo-Romanesque basilica of Ta'Pinu, which offers a splendid view of the surrounding countryside
