Shortly before the Second World War, the British decided to build an airfield there, whose activity is now very limited. The barracks have been transformed into a craft village, where visitors can observe, for example, the work of glass blowers or jewelers who are experts in filigree. The space left available has also made it possible to open a national park, a beautiful green site much appreciated by the Maltese for barbecues and weekend walks. Nearby you can also visit Mdina Glass, the largest producer of local blown glass, recognizable by its colorful marbling and gold and silver inlays.
