In contrast to the rest of the rocky and jagged north coast, Mellieha Bay has the longest sandy beach on the island, which ensures its success. Its village dominates the bay and, from the church square, the view extends to Gozo. Although tourism has transformed it and lined its main street with hotels and restaurants, it retains its village and ancient character as most of its sloping streets are still quiet and unspoiled. From the village, you will go down to Ghadira, name given to the group of houses along the beach, often crowded in summer. Another advantage is that you will be very close to Gozo and the village of Popeye
