This village of around 1,000 inhabitants overlooks the agricultural plains between Il-Ballut and Il-Manikata. These rich valleys produce a wide range of products: grapes, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, watermelons, melons, apples, oranges, pomegranates and strawberries, which have ensured its wealth. Manikata is a little Maltese wonder to be discovered by connoisseurs, as it offers beautiful viewpoints, the remains of an aqueduct and pale ochre colors, often under clear skies. On the last Sunday in August, the village celebrates Saint Joseph's Day. Last but not least, the village was also the setting for the 2012 filming of Games of Thrones.
