9 km from Nyons, Vinsobres looks out over the Eygues valley and the Mont Ventoux. This wine-producing village, at the gateway to the Vaucluse, is covered with vines covering 2,200 hectares of the 3,400 hectares of the commune! The vineyard of Vinsobres, rebuilt after the phylloxera, was honoured with a classification in the Côtes-du-Rhône in 1937. Ten years later, the winegrowers created the cooperative La Vinsobraise to promote the quality of local wines. Since 2005, Vinsobres has been classified as a cru. A beautiful village with its calades, its fountain-washhouses and dominating the old centre, the temple, a former 12th century priory, a jewel in the crown of Vinsobres heritage.
