This rural commune, essentially agricultural and very wooded, is scattered in hamlets on a plateau. Comps belongs to the Dieulefit region and has 170 inhabitants, at an altitude of 650 m. One comes to admire its Romanesque church Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul (12th century), isolated on a mound, with ornaments that give a Provencal style laughing to a building yet austere. It is in the rooms of the (private) castle of Comps that some scenes of the film Les Ames fortes by Raoul Ruiz, after Jean Giono, with Lætitia Casta were shot. Comps, where the Huguenots' path passes, is home to a campsite and a site for outdoor activities
