Vesc would come from Vaiesch and Vaiesco of the Latin episcopatum: bishopric because vesc is an old fief of the bishops of Die. It is one of the largest communes in the department. This medieval village, built on the slopes of the mountain of Ruy, keeps several Renaissance houses with facades pierced with mullioned windows and doors with braces. You can see the Saint-Pierre church, the oldest remains of which are the nave and the western facade. One of the local originalities is a pedestrian path: the artistic path of the goats. In this area you can visit farms where goats and sheep live and buy farm products.
