As the gateway to the French Vexin region, Juziers became part of the Regional Nature Park in 2005. In 978, the Countess of Letgarde ceded the Hardricourt lands to the Saint-Père-en-Vallée abbey in Chartres. Then, in 987, monks founded the priory of Juziers - sold as national property in 1793. The town's name is said to have Gallo-Roman origins(Jusiacum), before becoming Jusiers in the 13th century. The main heritage of this charming little village is the 11th-century Romanesque church of Saint-Michel, built of millstone. Listed as a Monument Historique, it is unfortunately only open to the public on rare occasions.
