GLACIER FABRICANT LAMBERT

Glacier

It can be very hot in the summer in Périgord. So much so that you will surely be tempted to try a good artisanal ice cream. At this ice cream shop, everything is good! From the most classic flavours to the most audacious. It's a pity that there aren't any tables to sit at, but they still provide you with a spoon to enjoy your ice cream while you stroll around. It's served copiously and the price remains very correct. For a 100% Périgord experience, try the walnut ice cream, it's a delight.

At Jean-Christophe Gounou, Maître Artisan Glacier, you'll melt with pleasure at the immense choice of flavors and aromas, from the most classic to the most inventive. Passionate about his craft, Jean-Christophe sources his raw materials as locally as possible. Le Bugue's weekly market is held every Tuesday and Saturday in the town center, all year round. Renowned throughout the region, it attracts large crowds in summer and winter alike. We strongly recommend parking on the other side of the river. In summer, the farmers' markets, starting at 6pm,are always accompanied by tastings and often by a festive evening during which everyone composes their own meal from local producers. In Le Bugue, it's Tuesday evening, and it's a veritable festival of colors, flavors and gourmet encounters.

1 review

Located just a step away from the famous Lascaux cave, it is here that since 1946 the foies gras Teyssier have been making, with the greatest respect for the traditions of the Périgord region, products that have been regularly rewarded and whose recipes have been handed down from father to son for 4 generations. We love the duck rillettes and the semi-cooked duck or goose foie gras. The house also makes game terrines, and cooked dishes based on duck such as cassoulet with duck breast, or for the aperitif, specialities to spread with foie gras and figs.

The Jouve family has been established since 1988 as artisanal preservers, a label that guarantees quality and authenticity. In their shop you will find all the preserves from their workshop in Castels: semi-cooked duck foie gras, blocks of liver, pâtés, rillettes, duck sauerkraut, quail with foie gras. We like the aperitifs (5 tins of 65 g of duck foie gras with fruit to make toast as an aperitif). The house also has another point of sale in Domme in the Grand Rue (05 53 28 31 54).

The specialist in chocolate-covered nuts, based in Carlux since 1972, exports its chocolate bonbons with walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, coffee, chestnuts, prunes, grapes, mango paste... No animal ingredients or fats (so no milk chocolate, which is vegan-friendly): pure cocoa butter. The delicacies are called Nogailloux or Truffinoix for the nuts, but the estate continues to make regional aperitifs based on nuts and brandies (plum, williams pear), which was its original activity.
