Stop off at the Church of Nossa Senhora das Neves, dating from 1762, for its beautiful azulejos. Since 2012, Norte Grande has also been home to the latest of the island's natural park's environmental centers: the Maison du Parc and the Écomusée de São Jorge. A quick visit promises to teach you more about the customs and traditions of the brown island. There's also the Norte Grande viewpoint, which offers a splendid view over much of the northern coast of São Jorge island. Several fajãs belong to this locality: Fajã do Ouvidor and Fajã da Ribeira da Areia, for example. A must-see if you're on the island.
