Well signposted, a paved road runs all the way to the left to the top of the island, at an altitude of 1,023 meters, from where the view is fantastic over the entire interior of the island, with the silhouettes of Pico and São Jorge taunting the eye in the background (when the sky is clear). Indeed, the panorama is worth the displacement only by good weather; and unfortunately the corner is often prisoner of a capricious fog. Then we reach the Lagoa de Falca, also nicknamed "Lagoa das Patas" because of the colony of ducks which quack there, in the middle of the water lilies. The place is ideal for a quiet picnic in the middle of nature!
