Villamayor de Monjardín is a village of 120 inhabitants where you can see the beautiful church of San Andrés, built in the 12th century, whose Romanesque portal as well as the 18th century Baroque bell tower are in a good state of preservation. Nearby are the remains of the renowned impregnable Monjardín Castle, built in the 10th century, where, according to legend, the remains of Sancho I of Navarre, who managed to take over the fortress in the year 908, are found. The Fuente de los Moros (Fountain of the Moors) is also worth a visit. It has an interesting Gothic cistern whose carved opening does not reveal its depth
