It seems that the name Agoncillo (1,200 inhabitants) comes from an ancient Celtiberian settlement called Egón that was located in the vicinity. The oldest remains found in the town date back to the Roman period. They are milestones from the 3rd century that were located along a Roman road and are now preserved in the church of Nuestra Señora la Blanca. While visiting the town, you should not miss the medieval castle and the interesting Würth Museum. Also worth seeing is the Castillo de Aguas Mansas (15th century), which now houses the town hall
