It is a small fishing village on the seafront about 5 km from Ribeira Grande, on the road to Paúl. Jewish settlers expelled from Portugal settled here and you can still see the old synagogue converted into an isolation camp for lepers. This village also houses a small shipyard that makes the wooden boats used by the fishermen. At the exit, beautiful natural swimming pools, ask the locals to find them.
