The Ribeira do Paúl (pronounced "paoul") is one of the greenest valleys, rich in sugar cane, coffee and banana plantations.
It is located 7 km from Sinagoga. Papaya, mango, avocado, breadfruit, banana and bougainvillea trees grow simultaneously in this lush valley.
From Conselho de Paul, you will continue to follow the road that stops at Cabo de Ribeira, at the foot of the cliffs. You will have a superb view of the valley.
This walk is also interesting to do in the opposite direction, starting from Cova, which you reach by car. It is a huge volcano crater that you cross after climbing up the opposite slope and that will lead you to Cabo de Ribeira by a stone path.
