Suddenly, you see a beach of fine black sand, hidden at the bottom of a conch-shaped bay, surrounded by rocks and a mountain that descends in tiers interspersed with multiple waterfalls. Tjørnuvík is located at the entrance of a strait that separates Streymoy from Eysturoy. This small village faces Eiði and from the beach, which is very well exposed for surfing, you can see the famous rocky peaks called "The Giant and the Witch". A hike of about 7 kilometers will take you to the heights where the view is worth the climb. It is breathtaking! With a population of 64 and a small church, Tjørnuvík looks like the end of the world.
