In the past, coal mines were exploited. Located near the village, they offer the opportunity to go for a walk (ask at the tourist office). Attention, some maps are inaccurate! The ferry does not arrive at Tvøroyri, but opposite at Drelnes, because the port is on the other side of the fjord. You have to reach the city on foot, by hitchhiking, or by bus.
