Very popular with scout groups and campers, this region of the Faroes offers a most surprising landscape. At the last bend in the road, you will see the most rural and the most seaside of all. Saksun, an idyllic hamlet frozen in time, with its grass-roofed church nestled in the middle of a green valley sloping towards a bay, a kind of fjord into which the sea only enters at high tide. A few old stone and grass houses, one of which houses the Duvugarðar museum, dedicated to the life of the past. A big waterfall in the distance, some cows, a horse and the farm children. Bucolic and enchanting!
