To the north of Cambados, facing the island of Arousa, stands the pretty fishing port of Vilanova de Arousa. With some 10,000 inhabitants, it is a charming stopover along the ría. As the Rías Baixas wine route passes through here, it would be a shame not to enjoy a good glass of white wine, accompanied by fish and seafood. The locality is also the birthplace of the novelist Ramón María del Valle Inclán (1866-1936), whose sixteenth century birth house has now been converted into a museum in his honour. The coastline is punctuated by beautiful beaches with calm waters that stretch for almost 5 kilometres, including the partly shaded Playa do Terrón.
