This small village of white houses with less than 2,000 inhabitants is protected by a magnificent castle from the 15th century, its most emblematic monument and probably one of the best preserved in the entire region. It was built by Juan Pacheco, Marquis of Villena, a politician at the time Henry IV ceded the village to him in 1456. While you're there, take a look at the Colegiata de San Bartolomé, whose choir stalls belonged to the Cathedral of Cuenca and which has preserved the baptismal font of Fray Luis Dávila, the chapel of the Fray Luis de León family. Not to mention the palace (alcazar) of Don Juan Manuel. Information: https://www.belmonte.es.
