In the past, in this region between forests and mountains, there were several groups of vaqueiros de, these former herdsmen who practised transhumance. They sang ancestral melodies with payetsa, a species of frying pan that they hit with a great key. We enter the park from the Col Pass (1 486 m), which marks the border with Castilla-León. The AS -227 road goes down to the valley. At 12 km from the hotel, the Centre of Interpretation of Pola de Somiedo park will provide you with a map of the region, an audiovisual room and a tourist office which will provide useful advice on routes and activities.
