Pontgibaud is protected by the Château Dauphin, built in the 12thcentury by Robert I Dauphin. Today, it is open to visitors, as are its landscaped gardens, and houses the Musée de la Mine, which reveals another facet of the town's history. The church features three masterly paintings. From the château, you can enjoy a magnificent hike along Pontgibaud's cheire de la coulée volcanique du puy de Côme. Views of the Puys chain punctuate the route. On the banks of the Sioule, anglers will find plenty of places to practice their passion: a 500-metre no-kill course has been set up starting from the campsite footbridge.
