You will be able to contemplate the singular beauty of some of the roofs of the village. Anecdote: the church is built in an open area, away from the houses... Why? Quite simply because in 1740, the rich lived downstairs and the poor lived upstairs; each wanting the church close to his home, the bishop took the wise decision to build it in the middle of the two sectors. The name of the place was inspired by a ravine "that twisted and turned". This is how Gaspar Frutuoso describes it: "From here, the Nordeste lands progress, all of them in land of high cliffs, where two lengths below is the beach, called Água Retorta, because the water twists and turns. »
