The Serra da Tronqueira volcanic massif, virtually unpopulated, forms the interior of Nordeste. A road crosses it, allowing you to take in the wild beauty of the massif, which culminates at Pico da Varda, 1,105 metres above sea level. In winter, the road can be a little bumpy, especially if it has rained in the preceding days. In summer, take care and watch out for hikers and mountain bikers using the same route. In any case, keep up the pace and observe. Of course, if the weather is clear and the fog is not clinging to the summits, the view will be all the prettier. But if it's overcast, appreciate the mystical dimension of the massif..
